About Us

The Green Goblin nursery started from humble beginnings in 1986 in Zululand. The nursery moved to Durban (Natal) in 1991 and by 1995 African bulbs had become the mainstay of the nursery. The Ansell Collection of Cyrtanthus was added in 1995 and this collection has been added to, and now comprises of one of the largest and most beautiful collections of Natal Cyrtanthus in the world. The Ansell Collection began in 1945 in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) and was moved to South Africa in 1967. This is one of the oldest and documented collections of Cyrtanthus that is in private hands.

Our Undertaking

  1. All bulbs are sold with Conservation permits and Phytosanitary Certificates from the South Africa DAFF.
  2. All bulbs are unconditionally guaranteed to arrive in excellent condition.
  3. Prices are quoted in Dollars.
  4. Hints on soil mixes, growing, maintenance, etc, are supplied as part of the free backup service. Help and advice are only an email away.
  5. A Southern African (SACU) price list (in SA Rand) is available for people from South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, and Botswana. Please note that the bulbs I send to SACU countries will not be chemically treated and are therefore unsuitable for export to countries that require a phytosanitary certificate.
  6. Postage/freight are charged extra.  Currently we are using DHL and Global Express to deliver our bulbs.
