Aristea ecklonii looks like a grass until late spring, when it sends up wiry stems covered in bright blue flowers that open in the morning sun. Leaf: Iris-like, dark green, glossy. Uses: Under trees, beside ponds, cut flower filler. Hummingbirds/insects: Highly attractive. Frost tolerant if mulched.
