Unlike the upright praecox, Agapanthus inapertus has distinctive pendulous flowers in deep violet-purple. It flowers later (January–March) and adds a unique structural element. Height: 60–80cm. Pollinators: Bees and butterflies. One of the few agapanthus species with true dark colouration. Mulch in winter in colder zones.
