Wild iris – Variegated form
Dietes grandiflora is a tall, evergreen iris relative with large, white flowers marked with yellow and violet. Flowers appear in flushes from spring to autumn. Extremely tough and drought tolerant. This variegated form has green leaves with white stripes. Plant next to standard green Dietes grandiflora. Pollination between two variegated plants produces albino seedlings (lethal). Cross-pollination with the green form is required for viable seed and surviving offspring.
